About the brand

Tatjana Philipp, a native Berliner, worked as a pattern maker in Berlin and Antwerp before establishing her eponymous label in 2018.

Her unique, refined signature of tailoring and draping, combined with her dedication to high quality materials and local craftsmanship, is what makes her luxurious womenswear brand particularly outstanding. The beauty of subtle contrasts that are not visible at first glance are the source of her inspiration. A progressive approach to design, paired with the awareness to not follow fleeting trends, results in durable and timeless garments.

As a fashion brand we want to use resources responsibly and sustainably. As such, we are committed to three core principles that inform our future actions:

  1. Value of materials. We only use materials of high quality.
  2. Local manufacturing. We only work with European manufacturers that meet our social and ecological standards.
  3. Transparency. We are transparent regarding the entire manufacturing chain of our products.

Our aesthetics of tailoring & draping

Perfectly constructed garments are the core of Tatjana’s brand which attribute to her refined aesthetic. Graciously draped silhouettes interlace sharp tailoring, creating garments which are as much piece of art as they are wearable. Natural fibres and detailed finishes enrich her work, creating timeless womenswear that is made to last.

Our materials

Our mission is to initiate a more careful use of our resources. For us, this also means producing garments with a high longevity. The fundamental basis for doing so, is the quality of the materials we work with.
We only use materials, sourced from small companies in Germany, Italy and France that meet our standards of social and environmental responsibilities. We furthermore maintain long lasting relationships with our suppliers. This enables us to better understand our production chain and thus make it more sustainable and resource-saving. We see this as a process and are constantly evolving. At the moment we still have two fabrics from Japan in our collection, which we will substitute soon. It is also our goal to use only natural fibers and substitute fibers of natural origin by the end of 2021. These include wool, silk and linen but also modal, cupro and tencel.

Leather

The beauty of subtle contrasts, as one of the main inspirations of Tatjana, is especially manifested in the leather garments. Our leather hides are selected with great dedication and care and all of them are sourced exclusively from small tanneries in France and Italy.

Handmade in Germany

Since day one, we have been passionate about local traditional craftsmanship. We see it as a cultural treasure, which should be protected and supported. For that reason and because we strive to reduce our impact on the environment season by season, we made the decision to have our collections exclusively manufactured in Germany. Our leather garments are produced in Bavaria, and we managed to keep the production of the textile collections even closer to Berlin, namely in Brandenburg and Sachsen. The whole product development, from designing the garments, creating the patterns, to the production management takes place entirely in Berlin.
